What is a double scan protocol?

Double scan protocol is useful in total edentulous jaw cases.

It consists in the application of radiopaque markers (eg. gutta-percha spheres) on the patient’s prosthesis.

Then two radiological examinations are performed:

  • CT of patient’s jaw wearing the prosthesis;

  • CT of the prosthesis alone.

Due to the presence of the gutta-percha spheres in both exams, RealGUIDE software will be able to match the prosthesis to the patient’s anatomy automatically.
